This research aims are: (1) Characteristics of special class planology in SMP Negeri 1 Juwana (2) Characteristics of students in special class in SMP Negeri 1 Juwana. (3) Characteristics of the material special classes in SMP Negeri 1 Juwana towards international standard school.
This is a qualitative research and ethnography design. The main method in collecting data was done by doing interview, observation and documentation study. The method in obtaining the empiric data about management of special classes towards international based school in SMP Negeri 1 Juwana, Were the management of special classes environment, characteristics of the students, and the material for special classes in international standard. The source of the data was got from the headmaster, the room teachers of special classes from students, and also from the events doing teaching and learning process and from the relevant documents with the research focus.
This research found four empiric facts as follows:
1. The characteristics of the classes environment in SMP Negeri 1 Juwana were planned as good as possible so the students feel comfort the classes, all the activities in the classes are effective, the seats are well managed so the students can get good concentration and guidance.
2. Optimize the tuition by knowing the student characteristics, lessen the number of the students in the class, based on the theory of child’s development and educational psychology about the basic skill of the students, creating a condusive situation of social life in special classes.
3. Science and technology are approach programs which suit with the existence of the computers whish are really needed to optimize the learning of English, Mathematics, science, IT, and Social study as the leading sector, mixing English Mathematics and science in bilingual teaching. Holding extracurricular with IT based, choices in Science and sport, the management of the room in international standard, the characteristics of the varying students and the addition of studying time for the enrichment program.
4. Develop a good relationship among the school, parents and the society in coordinating with related institutions, optimize the existence of the library as the place to develop the knowledge, optimize the religious places at school as the center of religious events the make real the vision and missing of the international standard school based on the religion.
